Students present research at journalism conference in Chile

Omar Al-Ghazzi recently presented their research at the first annual conference on Journalism Studies in Santiago, Chile. The panel where they presented, “Critical Approaches to Citizen Journalism,” was chaired by Michael Bromley, University of Queensland, Australia, a former visiting scholar at Annenberg.
Their presentations were titled:
Gilewicz: Tell me true: citizen journalism as digital parrhesia
White: Citizen journalists and the making of the tea party
Ali: The local media citizen: citizens, journalisms, citizen-journalisms and democracies in the local media ecosystem
A-lGhazzi: Re-conceptualizing citizen-journalism: the case of the Arab world
