Monday, October 11, 2010

Martin Fishbein, Ph.D.

A special issue of the journal Health Communication celebrates its 100th issues (Vol. 25, Issue 6-7) with a tribute piece recognizing the work of Annenberg’s Martin Fishbein.

The essay, “The Impact of the Work of Martin Fishbein on Health Issues in the World” by Marco Yzer, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Minnesota, states “The impact that health communication research has had on health issues in the world is the result of the combined efforts of a large community of investigators. Particularly important among those investigators was Martin Fishbein.”

“Because his work has made an enduring impact on our field, this 100th issue of Health Communication in which we celebrate achievements and reflect on future steps offers an opportune moment to pay homage to Marty Fishbein.”

Prof. Fishbein passed away November 27, 2009 while traveling in Europe.
