John L. Jackson, Jr., Ph.D.

After 40 days of fasting from any discussion about race, Annenberg’s John L. Jackson, Jr., Ph.D., the Richard Perry Professor of Communication and Anthropology, explains how it felt to “de-racify” himself in a story from the December 7 edition of The Philadelphia Inquirer.  "What it made me realize is that there's so much concern about not seeing race and not talking about it that at the end of the day, it almost felt dysfunctional to me," Prof. Jackson said.
