Klaus Krippendorff, Ph.D.

Remarks regarding human-centered design delivered recently by Klaus Krippendorff, Ph.D., the Gregory Bateson Professor for Cybernetics, Language, and Culture before the Universidad de Bogota Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Colombia are highlighted in an article in Elespectator.com. In the article, Prof. Krippendorff notes that designers are “the agents [responsible for] change in the continual renewal of the material culture of the society.”

“The idea that ‘form follows function’ […] has changed radically in recent decades,” Prof. Krippendorff said. The article notes that designer is now “someone who understands the social situations in which objects are made to play a role, and this includes the creativity involved in the use of these objects.”
