Andy Tan received his doctoral degree from the Annenberg School for Communication in the University of Pennsylvania, and currently is a research fellow in the school's health communication group. His research interests are related to the effects of public health communication and behavior change interventions in the areas of nutrition, obesity, adolescent health risks, and cancer prevention and survivorship. He received his MBBS from the National University of Singapore (2001), MPH from the Bloomberg School of Public Health (2007), and MBA from the Carey Business School (2007) at the Johns Hopkins University. Prior to his doctoral program, Andy was a medical officer at the Health Promotion Board in Singapore and was actively involved in public health interventions pertaining to chronic disease management and education.
