Matt Lapierre is a graduate of theAnnenberg School for Communication. He received his doctoral degree in 2012. His dissertation title is "Development and Persuasion Processing: An Investigation of Children's Advertising Susceptibility and Understanding."
Matt earned his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a dual major in Mathematics and Philosophy and an M.A. from the University of Connecticut in Communication Sciences. Before coming to Annenberg, Matt worked as an AmeriCorps*VISTA in Montana, worked with mentally ill children in Massachusetts and was a research assistant at the Oregon Social Learning Center. Matt's research interests include children's understanding of persuasive communication, consumer socialization and cognitive development.
