Most undergraduate courses in Communication are open to students throughout the
University. A formal process of application and acceptance is required, however,
to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Communication. The major curriculum
is designed, administered, and taught by faculty at the Annenberg School for Communication,
though the degree is formally granted by the College of Arts and Sciences or the
College of Liberal and Professional Studies. All major admission decisions are
made by The Annenberg School.
Students may apply for admission to the major once they have completed two core
courses and one additional Communication course with an average major gpa of 3.0
or. Applications are not accepted later than the first semester of the junior year.
Exceptions are permitted only for students with junior class standing who transfer
from other universities. These applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.
All students must meet the following requirements prior to application:
Alison Feather, Director of Student Services and Registrar, provides academic and
procedural advising for prospective and admitted Communication majors. Prospective
students are invited to meet with Mrs. Feather to learn more about the major in
the Undergraduate Office (Room 204 in The Annenberg School). Appointments may be
made by contacting Mrs. Feather at 215-898-8892 or
email@example.com. The Undergraduate Office is open Monday through
Friday from 9am to 5pm. Meetings are not available on weekends or during University
