Sarah Vaala & Matt Lapierre, doctoral candidates at the Annenberg School for Communication and researchers within the Children’s Media Lab, were recently selected to present their work at the 2008 National Communication Association Convention. Their paper, titled “Complexity, Movement, and Text Familiarity: Correlates of Visual Attention to Onscreen Print”, presents work from a study assessing how movement and text complexity moderate children’s attention to onscreen print. Their results offer important implications for both practice and theory.
