Jessica Taylor Piotrowski presents new research at the meeting of the International Communication Association

05/25/2008

Jessica Taylor Piotrowski, a doctoral candidate at the Annenberg School for Communication and researcher within the Children’s Media Lab, presented new research at the annual meeting of the International Communication Association in Montreal, Canada.  In collaboration with Dr. Deborah Linebarger, Director of the Children’s Media Lab, Jessica has been working to understand how television narratives can support the narrative skills of preschoolers.   Results from an experimental study suggest that traditional and embedded narratives do support narrative skills in preschoolers, but that the type of narrative plays an important role in understanding the relationship between narrative exposure and narrative skills.
