Aymar Jean Christian has published the essay “Joe Swanberg, Intimacy and the Digital Aesthetic,” in the latest issue of
Cinema Journal. Aymar also wrote a post on the publication in his

Abstract:
LOL (Joe Swanberg, 2006) is a product of Internet and early twenty-first-century cultures. Responding to its time, the film posits a distinct vision and artistic practice, one espousing a digital aesthetic intended to create a radical sense of intimacy.
