Events

We've actually had several events:

• August 18th, 1999: Indian food at New Dehili, Summilux snapping, 3d photo takin' talkin about Victrolas.
• September 19th, 1999: Morris Arboretum flower photos.
• September 25th, 1999: WWII at Fort Mifflin.
• October 2nd, 1999: Fort Washington camera show and flea marketing.
• October 10th, 1999: David Heitz' remarkable Victrola party
• October 30th, 1999: Diana camera street photography and harrassing the clerks at Mid City Camera by asking to handle all their Leicas then rooting through the junk bins and not buying anything.
• November 2, 1999: Sam Katz' party. The Philadelphia Republican Mayorial hopefull had a swank party at the Bellvue; invaded by the PLUG.
• November 5, 1999: First Friday. Philadelphia art galleries stay open late and dish out free food and booze, the PLUG was there for some summilux snappin, single malt scotch swilling and general notoriousness.
• November 13-15th: Cape Cod silliness and debauchary for three days outside the Kennedy compound.
• January 13, 00: New York
• February 4, 00: First Friday
• March 3, 00: First Friday
• April 7, 00: First Friday. No one but Kyle and Rick showed up. We chased people around and then Kyle's flash broke. He bought a Gerbstadt.
• April 13, 00: Hanging out with William Wegmann.
• May 5, 00: First Friday. Standard tourist chasing.
• June 2, 00: First Friday Helter Skelter! It was every man for himself. Sal DiMarco showed up.
• July Somethingorother 00: Tall ships. Ho hum. Avast, shiver me timbers: standard tourist harrassment & piracy.
• November Somethingorother: The PLUG goes to Seattle and busts some spousal abusers, climbs that weird tower, and buys silver spoons.
• December 8th-19th, 2000: Iceland and Holland -- the PLUG get's jiggy with it!
• March 9-16th, 2001: Bucharest Romania -- the PLUG gets worse than jiggy!
• April 22, 2001: March for Womens Lives, Washington D.C.
• September 01, 2001: Nudie bars
• It got so crazy after this, what with all the arrests, "detainments", court hearings, and other oafish shenanigans we fell to not keeping track of all our brutal events. We do have a shot from a PLUG workshop.
• 2001-2002 PLUG getting together most sundays and shooting --
  the PLUG now consisting mostly of Kyle, Linda, Kaye, Colleen, Jackie Ohhh, Megan and various others
• April Something 2002, Pablo Koldony visits from Argentina

Membership Requirements:

To join the PLUG you just have to like taking pictures. We'll settle for people who like cameras, but it's not as cool. You don't have to own a Leica, or even really have a desire to get one. What we don't want are people who only take pictures of tree-bark or newspapers at fifty paces then spend all day peering at them with a Schneider loupe going "ooh! ooh! so sharp!" For that, you'll want the PLTG, the Philadelphia Lens Testers Group. We're photographers here. Oh yeah, you don't have to live in Philadelphia either.
