Cherian George shares early-stage research from his current book project on cartoon censorship. Based on case studies from around the world, the book aims to enrich the concept of censorship by explicating its various forms, ranging from censorship by the state to self-censorship, as well as attacks triggered by the appropriation of cartoons for symbolic purposes never intended by the artist.
