Health Communication in Complex Information Environments: Convergence, Misinformation, and Strategy

May 4, 2026 12:00pm-1:15pm
  • Annenberg School for Communication (Room 500)
Audience Penn Community Only

How have populations communicated about health during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, and what do these shifts imply for future strategies for infectious disease communication?

About the Talk:

The talk presents key findings from a series of projects investigating the dynamics of the “infodemic,” with particular attention to the persistence and transformation of misinformation in disease prevention and broader health contexts. By situating these findings within changing media and communication environments pre- and post-pandemic, the presentation highlights implications for developing more adaptive and resilient health communication strategies.

There will be a student and research staff session held immediately following the talk from 1:30-3:00pm in Room 212.

Register for the talk before Thursday, April 30th
