Join Comm major alumna Allison Kluger (C'87), Emmy Award nominated Television Producer and Executive, former on-air talent, media consultant and lecturer at Stanford's Graduate School of Business, as she gives you advice on how to have an impactful presence in the world.
She will discuss topics like executive presence and personal branding with stories and examples from her TV days and experiences creating innovative content across different media platforms. You will come away from her talk having a better sense of what your superpowers are, how to create business opportunities for yourself, and what makes a persuasive and charismatic presence, no matter what field you enter.
About Allison Kluger
Allison Kluger has over 25 years of experience in broadcast media and entertainment, from network television to new media platforms including electronic retail, interactive television, and digital media. She is also a freelance writer and media consultant. She has been nominated for an Emmy four times. She is a native New Yorker who graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a major in Communication from the Annenberg School for Communication. Her strength is working within all different broadcast and digital platforms and managing people of creative and technical expertise.
Her varied experience includes over 10 years at ABC where she produced Good Morning America, and was one of the original Coordinating Producers of The View. She produced, and was an on-air host, for home shopping networks, created a dot.com, worked in interactive television, and helped Al Gore start up Current TV.
Presently Kluger is a Co-Instructor at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business in two courses called Reputation Management: Strategies for Successful Communicators, and Strategic Communication, as well as creator and Lecturer of Project You: Building and Extending Your Personal Brand, a course she teaches with Tyra Banks, and Executive Presence for Women, a course she teaches in Stanford’s School of Continuing Studies. In January she will teach a new course she has created called Strategic Pivoting for Next Chapters, in which Alex Rodriguez (ARod) will be her featured guest speaker in all of the classes.
Kluger is the recipient of the Dorothy J. King Lecturer in Leadership for 2017-2018. She is an advisor for many of her graduate students’ new ventures, she mentors young women and men in leadership and personal branding, and gives lectures and keynote speeches all over the world.
