Annenberg CGCS Team Maps Out How Iran Censors the Internet

Researchers at the Iran Media Program, a project of the Annenberg School for Communication’s Center for Global Communication Studies (CGCS), have developed an infographic charting how far up the proverbial food chain internet censorship goes in Iran. This graphic shows the efforts extend all the way to the very top (the Supreme Leader) and goes down to internet users and service providers.   "The bureaucracy of informational management in Iran is astonishingly complex,” says Monroe Price, Full Adjunct Professor and Director of CGCS. “Our infogram is an attempt to picture it--to show the links in structure and the institutions that collectively exercise control.”
