Treating and Preventing Adolescent Mental Health Disorders, What We Know and What We Don't Know, a project of the Adolescent Mental Health Initiative of the Annenberg Public Policy Center and the Annenberg Foundation Trust at Sunnylands, has won praise in a review published by the New England Journal of Medicine.
"It is a clear and well-written book that should provide an evidence-based approach to the thoughtful care of adolescents," wrote reviewer Dr. Harsh K. Trivedi of Children's Hospital Boston, in the May 25 issue of the Journal, "and it should be a ready reference on the shelf of any physician caring for adolescents."
In February, Treating and Preventing Adolescent Mental Health Disorders was named the best book in clinical medicine published in 2005 by the Association of American Publishers, the principal trade association of the book publishing industry. The Journal of the American Medical Association called the book "a scholarly, thorough and ambitious work." The book, published by Oxford University Press, is the collaborative effort of more than 100 internationally respected scholars and scientists at Penn and around the nation.
