Conrad’s In-Depth Reporting from the Western Sahara

Doctoral student David Conrad and longtime professional collaborator photographer Micah Albert have published an in-depth look at the life, political landscape, and outlook for the people living in the Western Sahara.

Published in Foreign Policy magazine, reporting for the six-part series took place during 2013 when he and Albert traveled throughout the 100,000 square-mile expanse of the Saraha Desert which is populated by people who have been at the center of a decade’s long fight for survival and sovereignty.

This is the second in-depth Foreign Policy piece written and chronicled by Conrad and Albert.  In 2012, working from a Pulitzer Center grant, the two traveled throughout Nairobi, Kenya to report on health conditions in one of the city’s slums.
