David Eisenhower, Lecturer and Director of the Annenberg School's Institute for Public Service, has written an article for Spero News titled "World War II and Its Meaning For Americans." In it he warns against our schools and universities neglecting to teach military history which he believes would result in "an erasure of national memory that we can't afford. Amnesia about the wars of American history undermines Americans' ability to reach the informed decisions about military affairs that, as citizens and taxpayers, they are obliged to reach."
