Professor Marvin on technology and the future of mass communication history

Carolyn Marvin was invited to speak to the History and Mass Communication and Society divisions of the Association for Education in Mass Communication and Journalism (AEJMC) at their 86th Annual Convention in Kansas City, Missouri (August, 2003). She appeared with three other invited panelists, James Cane, Dane Claussen, and Mitchell Stephens, on the theme "Thinking in Time: Technology and the Future of Mass Communication History." Dr. Marvin's topic was historical parallels between village bells in 19th-century France and contemporary broadcasting systems.
