Professor Barbie Zelizer will deliver the keynote at the annual conference of the Journalism Education and Research Association of Australia, Tuesday, November 24, in Sydney. The title of her talk is “On the crisis in journalism: terms of choice and uncertainty.”
What is the crisis in journalism? And how do we know that it is really there? This talk addresses the uncertainty that drives contemporary discussions of the crisis in journalism. It argues that invoking the term "crisis" imports a set of temporal and spatial contours that obscure the nature of the present challenges facing journalism."
She also will participate on a panel discussion following her talk.
