Bo Mai

Doctoral Student

Mai is a doctoral student at both the Annenberg School for Communication and the Department of Sociology, University of Pennsylvania. His research interests lie at the intersection of social networking sites, online privacy, computer-mediated social interactions, and the Chinese Internet industry. His recent work examines how the contextual characteristics of websites affect young Internet users’ tendency to disclose private information on social networking sites, with a special focus on the Chinese context.
