Sean Fischer comes to the Annenberg School for Communication with an interdisciplinary background that he hopes to continue to put to use. Broadly, his past work has belonged to Cultural Studies and Literary Criticism, but he is pivoting towards the more socially minded study of the ideas and material items that help cultural groups to form and grow. This shift resulted in the completion of an honor's thesis on the role literary criticism plays in society and how the role has changed with the rise of digital technology and social networks.
Fischer graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English Literature and Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo in 2016. While at Geneseo, he was a member of the third place team at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in 2015.
