Rita Coburn

Rita Coburn is a Peabody and Emmy Award-winning director, writer, and producer of radio television, and film. She was the co-director and co-producer of "Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise" (2016) and director of "Marian Anderson: The Whole World in Her Hands" (2022). Through her work, she uniquely addresses topics from a multi generational lens with a passion for impacting others through the untold stories of prominent figures and key ideals relevant to Africa-American culture.

Organized by the Center for Africana Studies at the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Social Policy & Practice, and the Wolf Humanities Center. Co-sponsored by the Annenberg School for Communication.
