Jamieson is the recipient of the 2005 Decade of Behavior Research Award from AERA, an international organization that advances educational research and its practical application. She was cited for her work, which bridges social science and the humanities.
The theme of this year’s annual meeting is "Education Research in the Public Interest." Decade lectures focus on Decade of Behavior themes – safety, health, education, prosperity and/or democracy.
"We know these issues are fundamental to your work," noted Felice J. Levine, executive director of AERA, in her invitation to Jamieson. The lecture will take place in April at the 2006 AERA Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
