Hui Fang is a Ph.D. candidate in Communication at the School of Journalism and Communication, Renmin University of China, where she also received her master’s degree in 2015. In 2016, she was a visiting scholar at National Chengchi University in Taiwan. Her current research interests include sociology of knowledge (especially on the relationship between communication technologies and knowledge production), intellectual history and cultural studies. She currently serves a responsible editor of Chinese Journal of Journalism & Communication (CJJC).
Hui has authored several papers published in academic journals such as Chinese Journal of Journalism & Communication, Modern Communication. She has also contributed chapters to books Report on Chinese Media Development (2013-2014) (edited by Shudong Li) and Report on Development of China’s Television Art (edited by Danyan Wang). She is a research fellow for the project “New Media Technology and Cyber Nationalism Studies in China”. She is now working on her doctoral dissertation on intellectual history of technological determinism.
