Wei Yan is a Ph.D. candidate at the College of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University and a visiting scholar at the Annenberg School for Communication.

Her research areas mainly cover publishing, cross-culture communication, and digital media. She not only participated in the academic project of the integrated development of bookstores, but also went to the United Arab Emirates to conduct research on media clusters. Her work has appeared in journals such as Publishing Research, Chinese Editors Journal, and Journalism and Mass Communication Monthly. She is the editor of China Media Report now.

Her recent research centers on the individual's cross-culture media use in daily life, including the ways to construct the self and the other on social media. It can reveal the impact of media globalization and how these effects construct individuals' cultural identity.

Wei Yan is a Ph.D. candidate at the College of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University and a visiting scholar at the Annenberg School for Communication.
