Julia Becker

Undergraduate Fellow, Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication

Julia Becker is in her senior year at the University of Pennsylvania. She is majoring in Communication and is currently completing a ComPS/Honors thesis. She is researching street art in communities along the U.S.-Mexico border and how it is shaped by news, entertainment media, and President Trump’s rhetoric regarding immigrants, immigration policies, DACA, and border security. At Penn, she is an undergraduate grant recipient with the Andrea Mitchell Center for the Study of Democracy and an undergraduate fellow at the Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in May, she plans to continue her studies at the graduate level in the United Kingdom.
