2021-22 Staff Information

In response to guidelines issued by the state and the University of Pennsylvania aimed at ensuring the health and safety of our school community, Annenberg buildings will operate under certain rules and protocols through the end of summer 2021, and non-essential workers will continue to work remotely until they are gradually phased in during the month of August.

Vaccine & Testing Requirements

As announced by the University on August 25, all current faculty, staff, and postdocs are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no later than October 15, 2021 unless you have a religious or medical exemption. You can record your COVID-19 vaccination status securely and confidentially in Workday. Those who do not record a vaccination will face disciplinary action up to and including termination. Faculty, staff, and postdocs are required to schedule and complete gateway between September 7 and September 17. More information on how to schedule a test can be found in this scheduling tip sheet. The test is saliva-based.

All fully vaccinated faculty, staff, and postdocs who are accessing campus for any reason during the Fall 2021 term also are required to participate in an ongoing screening test program. Each week, a random sample of those faculty, staff, and postdocs accessing campus will be notified by email if selected and will be required to get tested within two weeks of selection.

In addition, any member of the Penn community who wants to access a COVID screening test for any reason may participate in volunteer testing by scheduling a screening test.

PennOpen Pass

For symptom tracking and contact tracing purposes, everyone on campus is now required to complete PennOpen Pass every day.

Building Access

The Annenberg School is piloting a program this fall whereby staff will work in the office three days per week, with the option to work at home two days. Staff may also choose to work full time in the office, or just one day at home. Staff should coordinate their schedule with their managers.

In accordance with current guidelines, if you are feeling unwell, seek medical guidance. If you are unable to work due to COVID-19 illness, please email your supervisor and ASC-HR@asc.upenn.edu.

COVID-19 Childcare Grant

Eligible faculty, staff, and postdoctoral fellows can apply for a grant of up to $2,000 from Penn to reimburse childcare expenses in your home or in a childcare center. Visit Penn's Childcare Resources and Support page to learn more.
