The new media environment affords unprecedented opportunities for ideas to spread across communities and for individuals to influence and be influenced without face-to-face contact. The current proposal addresses neural mechanisms of message propagation in the new media environment. Our data will shed light on how social norms spread, and how these processes interact with the social structures in which people operate.
