Statement of Support from the Annenberg Faculty
The standing faculty of the Annenberg School express their support for the Black members of our community.
The faculty of the Annenberg School for Communication are heartbroken by the senseless killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and all those who are victims of police brutality. We share the sense of outrage and profound sadness at the injustice we have witnessed.
We are a school made up of people from different backgrounds, races, genders, ethnicities, and age groups. Our diversity is our greatest strength, something we celebrate each and every day. Yet, we recognize that celebrating diversity is not enough and promise to actively fight white supremacy through our scholarship, teaching, and everyday actions. In this spirit we are in conversation about actionable steps for bringing these values to fruition in the ASC community. We are listening and will follow up.
To the Black members of our community, we see you. We hear you. And we share in your grief at this moment.
