David S. Cordero
- Doctoral Candidate
David Cordero is a doctoral student interested in studying how social networks and existing technologies can help individuals cope with mental illness.
David S. Cordero is a Ph.D. student interested in the intersection of people and technology, and the (often undisputed) relationship that consumers have with the technologies they use every day. His childhood in Silicon Valley and early career in tech inform his understanding of consumers and producers. At Annenberg, Cordero hopes to take his knowledge of the industry to better understand how social networks and existing technologies can help individuals cope with mental illness.
He has a B.A. in English (with a concentration in Critical Theory and Criticism) and a minor in Computer Science (with a focus on Digital Arts) from Dartmouth College, and graduated as a Senior Fellow, which exempted him from classes to pursue an independent research project analyzing the representation of gay men on popular LGBTQ-oriented news and entertainment websites. Prior to Annenberg, Cordero worked at IBM, where he led worldwide events marketing for the IBM Garage, a consultancy intended to help decision makers learn about cloud technologies and artificial intelligence in relation to their business imperatives.
