
David Elliot Berman, Ph.D.

David Elliot Berman is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication. His dissertation research addresses the ways that social media platforms are reshaping journalism by analyzing the business models of digital native news publishers. His secondary areas of research and writing include net neutrality, online activism, and the political economy of new media.
He is the co-author of the book After Net Neutrality: A New Deal for the Digital Age (with Victor Pickard; Yale University Press, 2019).
Prior to coming to Annenberg, Berman served as Director of New Media (2012-2013) and later as Director of Campaigns (2013-2014) for a political communications firm based in New York City and Washington, D.C. Berman received his B.A. in Politics and Globalization from New York University.
