Anna studies global news production. Her research draws from journalism studies, critical political economy, and cultural studies.

Anna researches cultures of journalism, looking at structural and relational conditions of news production, as well as meaning-making in transnational media networks.  She has a particular interest in agency, power, and ethics in journalism and historically-understudied and exploited contributors to news media. She also researches how digital and social media platforms operate in high-risk press landscapes. Her research primarily focuses on the UK and MENA region.

Anna holds a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from Brown University and an M.Sc. in Politics and Communication from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was previously a Fulbright Fellow based in Turkey.
