Our close-knit community of scholars is the intellectual heart and soul of CARGC.

Leadership
Our leadership team is comprised of Director Aswin Punathambekar, Associate Director Juan Llamas-Rodriguez, Center Manager Anastasiya Miazhevich, and Senior Research Manager Eszter Zimanyi.
Together, they envision and facilitate our robust slate of events, publications, and activities.
Postdoctoral Fellows
Our postdoctoral fellows spend two years in residence at CARGC, participating fully in the life of the center.
Doctoral Fellows
CARGC Doctoral Fellows are currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania and working on issues of relevance to global communication.
Visiting Scholars
CARGC visiting scholars develop their own research projects and take an active part in the life of the center by mentoring CARGC fellows and participating in center events and research activities.
Research Affiliates
CARGC Research Affiliates collaborate with CARGC fellows and faculty on research projects and participate in the center activities.

CARGC Alumni
Since its inception in 2013, CARGC has hosted a diverse group of faculty, postdoctoral, doctoral, and undergraduate fellows who have gone on to work in academia, policy, non-profit, and industry positions around the world.

Founding Director: Marwan M. Kraidy
Marwan M. Kraidy is a scholar of global communication and an authority on Arab media, politics, and culture. He studies the relationship between culture and geopolitics, theories of identity and modernity, and global media systems and industries. Kraidy is currently Dean & CEO of Northwestern University in Qatar, and the Anthony Shadid Chair in Global Media, Politics and Culture at Northwestern University.
