Paul Falzone is a social entrepreneur, communication scholar, and Emmy- and Peabody- nominated media producer. His career focuses on media’s potential to cultivate social and political change.
Paul Falzone is the Founder and Executive Director of Peripheral Vision International (PVI), an NGO that researches, creates and distributes innovative media projects. PVI’s work has been profiled by CNN, The New Yorker, NPR, The Guardian, and dozens of other news outlets. PVI’s entertainment-education television projects have been licensed to 100+ broadcast channels and streaming platforms around the world and are used in classrooms from Kenya to Kansas City. During his time as a Visiting Scholar, he anticipates focusing on three areas:
- Philanthropy as Communication
- A follow up to his co-edited collection "Entertainment-Education Behind the Scenes: Case Studies for Theory and Practice" (Palgrave Macmillan 2021)
- How “Media Hacking” sidesteps traditional gatekeepers
