Rehan Mirza’s research focuses on how digital platform design influences belief formation, network interactions, and prosocial behavior, exploring governance approaches to promote information integrity and healthier online ecosystems.
Rehan Mirza is a first-year doctoral student whose research examines how platform design influences belief formation, network interactions, and prosocial behavior. He aims to identify governance approaches that strengthen information integrity and foster healthy online communities.
Rehan has diverse experience across academia, the private sector, and nonprofit organizations. He worked as a Research Associate at the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, and at the School of Government at the University of Birmingham. He has also worked at UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and L.E.K. Consulting, and on projects with the Prosocial Design Network, the Integrity Institute, Digital Policy Alert, and Trustible.
Rehan’s cross-disciplinary background in technological innovation, public policy, public health, and economics informs his approach to understanding platform design, governance, and downstream societal implications. When not pondering platform pathologies, Rehan enjoys singing (especially musical theater), writing, meditation, and long walks listening to podcasts.
