Annenberg Hotkeys
Annenberg Hotkeys is a free, easy to use, distance learning platform that enables students to learn via interactive video.
Designed at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania in Spring of 2020 to help train medical students to diagnose and treat COVID-19 during lockdown, Annenberg Hotkeys has wide-reaching applications. The software enables distance learning, such as teaching professionals in traditionally underserved areas, and can be used for any type of education that employs branching logic or response to video stimulus.
While Annenberg Hotkeys can be used to teach over remote conferencing applications such as Zoom, the videos run locally, without an internet connection, which means it can be used in the field and in places without strong connectivity.
Written in HTML and JavaScript, Annenberg Hotkeys uses video modules that can be professionally produced or created with something as simple as a cell phone, giving the end users great flexibility in utilizing localized content.

Annenberg VR Narcan
Intranasal naloxone (Narcan®) can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in fewer than five minutes. In most states, it’s available without a prescription, carried by most major pharmacy chains, and covered by many different types of insurance. To prevent opioid overdose deaths, community members need to carry and be prepared to use Narcan ®.
Virtual Innovation offers a free 8 minute opioid overdose reversal training designed by nurses and researchers at the University of Pennsylvania in partnership with community stakeholders. Thanks to the generous support of Independence Blue Cross Foundation, this website offers overdose reversal training, along with flyers, brochures, and other materials for your community, free to use and share.
